Blue-green veins, raised rivers, gully the topography of work worn hands. Parchment skin, brown stained translucence, is crinkled and cracked. Cast tracks edge pewter seas of fog-strewn eyes. Sinewy lines map a history, mark a long life, deeply etched yet inscrutable, the mystery undecipherable.
Something is torn, there’s a missing piece; the legend to the map is gone. Treasure remains hidden, mysteries unresolved.
The Six Sentence Story prompt word is “legend”. Come Wednesday you can share your six sentence story at the linkup at GirlieOntheEdge.
Sometimes I think my legend is good and gone.

I don’t think so.
Anyway, this is just wordplay, it’s nobody’s story.

Always that missing piece… (k)

Yep.
And that could be the key…

Reminds me of the words that give me a hero and i will write a tragedy. Mysteries and legends are all marred in irony. I wrote my very first poem too and would absolutely love your suggestions on it!

I absolutely love the first 2 sentences. I searched unsuccessfully for the words to describe an old woman’s hands for my original idea for last week’s 6. Lo and behold…here they are!

Why thank you. All I knew this week was that I wanted to go with a map legend, then an old map and it ended up an old person.
No narrative, just playing around with the descriptions, in six sentences.
Thanks for the prompt and as to the missing words– Finders, keepers…

Shazam! Sometimes it’s the ever hidden treasures that have mysteries best kept hidden.

Yep. I appreciate that shazam. Thank you.

Very intriguing. Brings forth a mental picture of one wizened with age and shrouded in mystery.

Because of the complications of being Miz Avery I’ll likely not visit your Six tonight or even tomorrow; I’ll just say thanks to your character and especially as word-paintin’ was all I was going for with these six sentences.
