It’s the Monday before Valentine’s Day, so Quadrille #73, the d’Verse offering brought to us by De Jackson (aka WhimsyGizmo), is entitled A Prelude to a Kiss. The poem must be exactly 44 words and must include the word kiss. Eww, romance. Here goes.
Loosed
Oh, how the drunk slip
unmoored, three sheets,
loosed lips finally admit
love for you with sloppy kiss.
Lying silent at retreat of night
awash in dawn’s rising tide of light
sober scared, lips clenched tight.
You turn to me, and kiss me right.
Can’t do nothing right if you’re 3 sheets!

Thanks, but I don’t do Facebook. I’m just an occasional poet occasionally managing a response to a prompt. Glad you liked my offering. I appreciate you coming by.

I loved all the ship references here. I can see those sails.

Yeah, those were all anchors, but I didn’t know where this was headed. Thanks for coming by and showing it more clearly..

D there is something libersting in a slightly tipsy kiss. Releases the tension of the moment – and such a wonderful tension it is! 🙂

Yeah, this went in a different direction than originally sought.
Thanks for coming by.

Ah …. the tipsy encounter….and sleep over and then the waking and a new kiss with all the intention if needs to have to turn someone’s head. 🙂

Sometimes it actually turns out alright… love that angst before the kiss… hangover love?

Nice contrast between the sloppy kiss and being kissed right.
