Rebounding

dverselogo.jpgdVerse Poets’ Pub bar is now open for Quadrille # 57. Kim from Writing in North Norfolk says she “welcomes dVerse Poets from around the world to join us in writing rain-drenched poems in the hope that together we can magic up a big enough umbrella to keep the rain at bay. Just be sure your 44-word poem contains some form of the word rain.”

Rebounding

remember when you knew

exactly what to do?

in summer rain

join with the lake

frog eyed at the surface

a wondering witness

amidst the ricochet

of raindrops’ prancing play

skyward reaching drops rebound

leap up then crash back down-

right before your eyes.

  1. I love the way you’ve captured sound in the ‘ricochet of raindrops’ prancing play’ and the almost slow-motion image of:
    ‘skyward reaching drops rebound
leap up then crash back down’.
